Almost everyone: arm64-v8a.

Not sure? Take arm64-v8a. If Android says the app is not compatible with your phone, take armeabi-v7a instead. x86_64 is for emulators and Chromebooks.

Every file here comes from kryfo.app itself, with no third party in between, and every link works in Tor Browser too. Android will warn you about installing outside the Play Store. That is expected: allow it for your browser or files app, then open the file again.

Make sure it is really ours.

Two checks, and either one is enough to catch a changed file: the checksum of what you downloaded, and the key it was signed with.

Ask together, find anything.

• Security fixes. 0.4.2 carries every one since 0.3.0. Update when you can.
• Polls in groups and rooms. Ask a question with two to twelve answers, one to pick or several. Votes arrive like reactions, you can change yours, and whoever asked can close the poll with its final count.
• Search across every chat. Names first, then messages with the words lit, and photos, files and links on their own. The index lives inside the encrypted database, and nothing you search for leaves the phone.
• Words keep their own direction. English inside Arabic, Persian inside English: each reads the way it should, in messages, polls and search.
• Messages leave gently. A message that goes, by its timer or unsent, burns away and its row folds shut.

And everything that came with 0.3.0:

• A tools tab. See what a photo gives away (where, on what phone, when), clean any photo or video, make private QR codes, and lock a file with a password. All of it on your phone, none of it touching the network.
• Fifteen languages. English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Vietnamese, Indonesian, Persian and Arabic, the last two laid out right to left. It follows your phone, or you choose.
• Check-ins. Instead of staying connected all day, Kryfo can wake every fifteen minutes, fetch messages and go back to sleep. Far easier on the battery; messages can be later.
• Reliability. Messages no longer sit unsent after the network changes, Tor recovers on its own when it stops answering, a phone that has gone quiet says so, and videos are no longer sent twice.
• Security. Tor 0.4.9.12 and three OpenSSL fixes. Photos sent as files lose where, when and on what phone. Timed messages and opened videos leave no copies behind.

New versions, on their own.

Obtainium is a free app that watches this page and installs new versions of Kryfo when they appear, straight from kryfo.app. No store, no account.

1. Install Obtainium from obtainium.imranr.dev or from F-Droid.
2. Tap Add app and paste https://kryfo.app/download as the source URL. Or, on the phone, use the button below.
3. When it asks which file, pick the one for your phone: arm64-v8a for almost everyone. To have it pick for you, set the APK filter to arm64-v8a (or armeabi-v7a).
4. Install. From then on Obtainium checks this page and offers each new version. Android only accepts it if it is signed with the same key as the one you have.

F-Droid is on its way too: Kryfo is in review there, built from source on their machines, not ours.
